A musical celebration like you've never heard before is in store for you with our 65th Anniversary Season! As befitting any celebration we will look to the past, and to the future while celebrating the present. As I begin my eighth year as Music Director of this fantastic orchestra, I am looking forward to presenting some of the most exciting repertoire the orchestra and I have ever performed together as well as the "by popular demand" return of your favorite pieces which you've often asked to hear again.
We'll take you from the edges of the universe with Also Spach Zaratllustra (the opening of which is perhaps better known as "The Theme from 2001") to the fabulous songstress Ms. Eartha Kitt. Our season will present you with a pallet of musical offerings ranging from the intimacy of a Bach Concerto, to the singing and chanting of a 200 voice chorus in Carl Orff's masterpiece Carmina Burana. Musical blending of styles brings Gershwin's Piano Concerto out of the jazz hall and into the concert hall while Flights of Fantasy with narration by Star Trek’s George Takei, elicits the full grandeur of a symphonic space voyage.
